What is it about?	This Minor programme aims to nurture Engineering students with knowledge in Data Science which will be beneficial to their future career and/or further study. It is specifically designed to provide Engineering students with an option to augment their discipline studies with data science elements to meet with the dominant trend of a data-centric world. It focuses on practical skills, hands-on and project experience in addition to computational and statistical concepts in areas including data science programming, practical data science, data visualization, advanced data analysis, artificially intelligence and big data. Graduates of this Minor programme are expected to be versatile in both their major Engineering professions as well as in data science tasks at their jobs. They will be taskforce in driving new frontiers in adopting data science methodologies and technologies in their Engineering disciplines, and thus contributing to Engineering advancement and modernization.

Career opportunities	Graduates of this Minor programme will be able to bridge data science and their own engineering professions, thus defining new taskforce in the industries. Apart from career opportunities in their engineering disciplines, graduates of this Minor programme may also undertake the fastest-growing job positions such as data engineer/architect, data analyst, data scientist, machine learning engineer, big data engineer, business analyst, information security analyst.
