What is it about? Comparative Literature teaches literary, film, and cultural texts beyond and across national and linguistic divides. We introduce students to critical theories, making them accessible and applicable in working environments and real-life situations. Students learn to see the world around them through diverse texts, mediums, and genres and grasp a set of analytical tools to tackle a wide range of cultural phenomena. Teachers offer instructions in five areas: 1) Film and visual culture; 2) Literary and cultural theory; 3) Gender and sexuality; 4) Hong Kong and Asia; 5) Postcolonial and global studies.
