What is it about? | Kinesiology is a multidisciplinary field of study that contributes to the understanding of physical activity and exercise. This minor programme will introduce and expose students to the key subdisciplines of kinesiology including exercise physiology, exercise prescription, exercise in health and diseases, biomechanics, and movement measurement in addition to nutritional aspects of human health and performance. |

Pre-requisite requirements and/or other conditions for declaring the major/minor | Minor: Students are required to complete 36 credits of the following courses subject to the University's regulations on credit double-counting: EXSC2001, EXSC2003, EXSC2007, EXSC2008, EXSC2009, EXSC2010, EXSC3002, EXSC3014, EXSC3016, EXSC3017, EXSC3018, EXSC3019, BBMS1001, BBMS1002, BBMS3018 Remarks: 1. Courses may be offered in an alternate semesters/academic years. Please check the updated information of course offerings on the website. 2. Enrollment quota for each course is limited. Preference will be given to students who have already declared Minor in Kinesiology on HKU Portal. |
Career opportunities | This minor programme equips and prepares students for career development in health and fitness industry, research study in exercise science and sports medicine, and for further certification/study and work as exercise-related health professionals such as exercise specialist and physiotherapist. |
