What is it about?	The Minor programme places emphasis on data science integration, such as data preprocessing, data quality assessment, data visualisation and clustering to equip students with knowledge on the role of modern data analytics in the scientific process and medical applications.

Pre-requisite requirements and/or other conditions for declaring the major/minor	Minor: Students are required to complete 36 credits of the following courses, of which at least 2 courses are of advanced level to be studied in year 3 or above, subject to the University's regulations on credit double-counting: Select at least two courses from below list: BIOF1001, BIOF2001, BIOF3001, BIOF3002, BIOF3005, BIOF3006, BIOF3007, BIOF4002, BIOF4003 Select at least one course from below list: COMP1117, STAT1016, STAT1600, BIOF2013, BIOF2014, COMP2113, COMP2119, STAT2604 Select at least one course from below list: BBMS1003/BIOC1600, BBMS2003, BBMS2007, BBMS2009, BBMS3002, BBMS3008, BBMS3009, BBMS4003, BBMS4004, BIOC3605, BIOC4612 Remark: The courses listed for year 2/3 shall not be counted towards the advanced level course requirements. Students may refer to program guide for details.
Career opportunities	The Minor programme is designed to educate and prepare future bioinformaticians to acquire knowledge and managerial skills in research, hospitals and the healthcare industries.
